Customized Training
Many organizations have found that investing in their human
capital through employee training helps attract, develop, and
retain an excellent workforce, thereby serving their customers
better, something very important in today’s competitive market.
The Urban Group works
closely with organizations to assess their training needs and
craft a training program that matches their desired outcome.
Sometimes that involves leadership training for the management
team and can include training for the entire staff.
For example, The Urban Group
was commissioned by the Department of Energy to develop training
for their annual mandatory diversity training requirement. They
wanted the focus to be on diverse styles of communication and
learning and to include conflict resolution. Two different
training programs were developed, one specifically for senior
management and another for staff. The training, which included a
participatory component, was very successful and as a result one
of the DOE’s private contractors requested the same training for
its staff and management team.
The Urban Group's training
is participatory and engages all the participants’ senses and
different learning styles. Training often is aimed at a specific
issue the organization wants to improve, such as customer
service, staff morale, and increasing staff’s ability to work
with difficult customer or with each other.
